IDEA: INTERACTIVE INSPIRATION
Inspire empathy for people of all abilities through an immersive virtual reality experience, in partnership with Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute. Utilize adaptive equipment and VR technology to give users a feeling of freedom through the firsthand experience of skiing down the slopes of Breckenridge in a monoski.
ENGAGE: EXPERIENTIAL DESIGN
On location in Colorado with Chad Walker, an adaptive athlete, I captured photography, film and the 360° footage to be used in the VR headset. After designing the user experience, I engineered a custom frame to hold the monoski, designed and fabricated a rolling console to contain the VR technology, and created branding, graphics and visuals for the project. On event day, I managed the install and ran the experience. The Monoski VR Experience was the featured attraction at Courage Kenny’s 6th Annual Celebration of Courage event at Target Field. Providing this unique, engaging and interactive moment helped Courage Kenny raise over $117K for programs for athletes with disabilities.
